IEB Americas, Inc. (IEB Americas) is opening its first North American operation in North Charleston. The $1.5 million investment will create 30 jobs
 
IEB Americas is a subsidiary of Industrie Elektronik Brilon GmbH (IEB), a leading manufacturer of industrial battery charging systems and charging technologies. The North Charleston facility will serve as IEB's American production, warehousing, service and training center.

“IEB Americas’ decision to select Charleston County for its first ever production center in North America underscores how our area continues to be a strong, competitive location for businesses to expand and grow operations," said Charleston County Council Chairman Joe Boykin. "We are honored to welcome IEB Americas and look forward to the additional power-production capabilities this investment brings to our community.”
