UFP Packaging and Triston Wells are expanding in South Carolina bringing nearly 200 jobs to the state.

Two companies announced expansions in the Palmetto State Wednesday. UFP Packaging in Cherokee County and Trison Wells in Colleton County.

UFP Packaging, a designer and manufacturer of business packaging, will open a plant in Gaffney next spring/summer to produce wood packaging products. The $5.31 investment will create 136 jobs.

UFP Packaging is a subsidiary of UFP Industries. The company has more than 100 locations globally, including two facilities in Orangeburg County.

In Colleton County, cleaning product manufacturer Triston Wells will add a state-of-the-art, liquid-fill production line at its Walterboro facility. The $3.37 million investment will create 30 jobs.

Triston Wells manufactures a variety of private-label cleaning products for laundry, household, personal, pet and car care. The Walterboro expansion is expected to significantly increase annual production capacity.
