The incident on Friday, Sept. 18, is the 29th officer-involved shooting in South Carolina this year.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Florence County. The incident on Friday, Sept. 18, is the 29th officer-involved shooting in the state this year.

SLED investigators say a deputy tried to pull a man over which led to a chase on West Black Creek Road in Florence. The deputy fired at the man's car when the chase came to a brief stop but then resumed.

The suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries when the chase ended. No law enforcement officers were injured.

The suspect was released into the custody of the Florence County Sheriff's Office. SLED's investigation is ongoing.
