The shareholder-funded initiative was expanded following stakeholder feedback earlier this year. Kaytee Watson, manager of customer assistance for Dominion Energy South Carolina, said the program will support vulnerable populations across the state, including older adults and individuals living with disabilities.
“EnergyShare is one of the ways we can lend a helping hand to our neighbors across the Palmetto State, including older adults and people living with disabilities, and reinforce our commitment to the customers and communities we’re privileged to serve,” said Watson, “Whether it’s helping someone through a tough month or making lasting changes to their home that can help them use less energy for years to come, we are here to help.”
In addition to direct utility bill assistance, EnergyShare funds will support critical health and safety repairs, weatherization, and energy efficiency upgrades designed to reduce long-term monthly energy usage. Since 2020, the program has aided more than 7,000 customers across South Carolina.
The funds will be administered locally through the South Carolina Office of Economic Opportunity and partnering community action agencies. Residents interested in applying or learning more about eligibility can visit this link.
