The City of Columbia expects the area to reopen Thursday after sewer infrastructure work is completed.

A portion of the Saluda Riverwalk will close on Monday to accommodate sewer infrastructure work.

City of Columbia Parks and Recreation says the temporary closure will last until Thursday and will affect the downstream, eastern portion of the trail between the Millrace Boardwalk and Boyd Island. Visitors will still be able to access areas upstream.

During the temporary closure, Columbia Water will reline existing pipe and install a new manhole. Paving work will also be completed.

Temporary bypass lines are posted along the trail.
