No Major Changes Forecast as RNC Discusses 2024 Calendar
The Republican National Committee is formulating its 2024 presidential nominating calendar and a key figure says he doesn't anticipate any major changes to the order of early-state contests. South Carolina GOP Chairman Drew McKissick told The Associated Press on Monday that he felt the party's voting calendar would stay the same for the next cycle. He spoke ahead of meetings this week with the other members of the RNC's Presidential Primary Process Committee.

Clyburn: Biden Likely Working on Changing Filibuster Rules
U.S. House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn says he feels President Joe Biden is likely working behind the scenes to tweak Senate rules so the filibuster can't be used on legislation pertaining to election law or other constitutional changes. The South Carolina Democrat said in response to a question from The Associated Press on Wednesday that he thinks his longtime ally "is using the telephone" to discuss the issue with senators. The White House said this week that it's not up to the president to effect such changes in Senate rules.
