Anthony Manzo on the foundational fun of double bass

The musician once again brought his love for the string instrument to a wide range of Spoleto Chamber Music Series performances in 2022.

In this Sonatas & Soundscapes interview that aired Thursday, June 16th, host Bradley Fuller speaks with double bassist Anthony Manzo before his final few performances on the 2022 Spoleto Festival USA Chamber Music Series. Anthony (who goes by Tony) offers insights into his instrument, sharing about the role it plays in ensembles and why he enjoys it so much.

Originally from Greenwood, SC, Bradley Fuller has maintained a deep interest in classical music since the age of six. With piano lessons throughout grade school and involvement in marching and concert bands on the saxophone, Bradley further developed musical abilities as well as an appreciation for the importance of arts education.
