  • Damage from Tropical Storm Helene in Spartanburg on Oct. 1, 2024. More than 1.3 million homes lost power from the storm due to major damage from the strong winds that hit the Upstate hard. As of Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. less than 45,000 homes were still in the dark.
