Senator Tom Davis

  • March 28, 2023 — A look at what has happened with the SC Senate medical marijuana bill that was set to move again this year; the latest on major bills moving through the state House during the final weeks of the legislative session; an update on unemployment numbers; and more.
  • A South Carolina state senator says he was cited for public intoxication early New Year's Day while sitting in his parked car after realizing he drank too much and shouldn't be driving. Republican Sen. Tom Davis said in a statement from his law firm that he had sat in his parked car for over an hour before a Lexington Police officer approached him and eventually issued a ticket for public intoxication. Davis says he cooperated immediately and fully with the officer, and his statement emphasized he was not charged with driving while intoxicated. Davis has been in the state Senate since 2009.
