Jobs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, also known as STEM fields, pay significantly higher salaries and are growing faster than other sectors, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

The annual eSTEAM Sumter festival is a showcase of STEM and STEAM careers. The one-day event allows grade-school students to interact with vendors from Continental, Caterpillar, Eaton and other companies from the area’s industrial portfolio.
