Battle over AI data centers heats up

Data center construction is broadly unpopular across political divides, but approaches to its construction vary by city and state.

This week, New York imposed a one-year ban on new hyperscale data centers. Monterey Park, California, voted to ban data centers last month.

We hear from two communities, one that stridently opposes data centers, and another that’s open to them.
