SC Lede: Gun Reform Special Report

SCETV
Gun reform was the topic of discussion for the July 21, 2022 episode of Palmetto Perspectives hosted by South Carolina Public Radio’s Thelisha Eaddy. The hour-long show looked at how to tackle gun violence, what common sense gun reforms would look like and the importance of community in dealing with such persistent problems. A four-person panel included 5th Circuit Solicitor Byron Gipson, Hopkins Democratic Rep. Jermaine Johnson, Bishop Eric Davis founder and pastor at word of god ministries and Cassie Alia Ray of Serve and Connect a nonprofit focused on fostering positive change through sustainable police and community partnerships.

On this special edition of the South Carolina Lede for July 30, 2022, we look back on SCETV's recent "Palmetto Perspectives" forum on how to tackle gun violence, what common sense gun reforms would look like and the importance of community in dealing with such persistent problems.
