If you’re ready to be done with the rain and pull out your holiday sweaters you are in luck! The coldest air of the season is pushing into our area and will last for several days.

Rain moves out early in the morning as winds pick up. Temperatures remain mild near 70 degrees. But then expect the temps to crash Wednesday evening, with Thursday bringing cold conditions and remaining very windy with gusts to 30-40 mph. Overnight lows in the Upstate will be in the mid 30s with afternoon highs in the mid 50s. Midlands can expect morning lows in the mip to upper 30s with afternoon high temps around 55. The Pee Dee will have morning lows in the upper 30s with afternoon highs climbing to near 60 degrees. And the Lowcountry will start off the mornings with mid to upper 40s and afternoon highs near 60 degrees.

The wind chill or “feels like” temperatures will be in the low 20s in the mountains and 30s and 40s in the Upstate. Thursday remains windy, wind gusts of up to 40 MPH will occur. Frost and some freezing conditions are expected by Friday morning.

By Friday, strong wind gusts will weaken, as high pressure builds towards the Carolinas. Even though we’re colder, this frontal passage brings great weather for the upcoming weekend.
A cold front will swing through Wednesday as colder air rapidly spreads across the area by Wednesday night. Gusty winds will accompany the colder air and bring overnight wind chills Wednesday and Thursday into the 10s across the mountains and 20s/30s elsewhere.#scwx #ncwx #gawx pic.twitter.com/UYwKcO7wfL

And speaking of cooler weather, another round of chilly temps should arrive by the end of next week.
