A Cordova man is in custody at the Orangeburg County Detention Center - charged with murder - in last Thursday's a fatal shooting at South Carolina State University.
The South Carolina Enforcement Division (SLED) announced the arrest of Khamanti Kennedy, 18, on Tuesday.
Surveillance video shows Kennedy and three other individuals entering Hugine Suites then later leaving the housing complex to obtain items from the suspect vehicle. The arrest warrants states that a short time later the shooting occurred, killing Henry Crittington, 19, and Terrell Thomas, 18.
Neither the condition nor the name of the injured man, a student, has been released. Crittington and Thomas were not enrolled at the university, investigators said.
The arrest warrant goes on to read that Kennedy participated in the purchase of marijuana which led to the shooting. Kennedy was later seen on surveillance footage fleeing the scene.
On Monday, SC State announced heightened security measures at the university's key access points. Among the immediate changes are increased vehicle searches and security screenings for guests entering the campus.
SLED's investigation is ongoing.
