Lowcountry municipal judge arrested, suspended from bench

A chief municipal judge in Georgetown county was arrested Thursday and suspended from the bench by the state Supreme Court.

Jail records from the Georgetown County Detention Center show Richard Dana Todd Jr, 46, was booked on charges of child neglect

The same day, the South Carolina Supreme Court ordered Todd be suspended from his judicial duties. The order claims as he poses a "substantial threat of serious harm to the public."

Todd was arrested by SLED.
