The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Spartanburg County.
Spartanburg police were responding to a call for service at the Georgetown Village Apartments on Kensington Dr. when, according to SLED, a woman walked onto the breezeway outside of her apartment and pointed a gun at the officers. She was shot by an officer and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
No police were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
The incident in Spartanburg County is the 25th officer-involved shooting in South Carolina this year. There were 45 last year.
