The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Chester County.
Chester County deputies responded to Cushman Drive early Sunday morning, Oct. 18, to help Chester police with a disturbance caused by a large crowd. When deputies arrived, SLED reports, another disturbance happened and as deputies were speaking with individuals, a shot was fired.
At this time, there is no evidence that the shot came from law enforcement. A man was injured and is being treated at a local hospital.
As deputies were assisting the injured a man, another man ran. As officers were trying to catch up with the man, investigators say, a deputy fired a shot but the man was not hit. The suspect was taken into custody.
