Amick Farms will open a new facility in Edgefield County in April 2027.

Amick Farms, a poultry processor in Batesburg, is investing nearly $55 million in a new hatchery in Edgefield County. Forty jobs are expected as a result.

Amick Farms was founded in 1941. It's fully integrated operation includes hatcheries, feed mills and processing facilities which provide a variety of quality chicken products for retail, food service and industrial use.

The new facility in Trenton will have the capacity to hatch more than 1.5 million eggs—supporting the company's growth in South Carolina. Amick Farms has four existing complexes: two in Saluda County, one in Laurel, Mississippi, and one in Hurlock, Maryland.

The Trenton hatchery is expected to open in April 2027. Anyone interested in joining the Amick Farms team should visit the company’s careers page.
