You say "wisteria," Amanda says "wistaria"

Making It Grow, hosted by Amanda McNulty

Hello, I’m Amanda McNulty with Clemson Extension and Making It Grow. This probably does not come as a surprise, but I have some quirks: I say "pocketbook" instead of "purse," "sofa" instead of "couch," and spell wisteria "w-i-s-t-a-r-i-a" instead of with an "e" in the middle. If you look up wistaria site:edu (spelled with an "a" instead of an "e"), you only get are references to works of art instead of information about that plant. If you want news about the wisteria that’s twining around every tree in the world right now you spell it with an "e." My cousin Selena was in the Wistaria (with an "a") garden club and gave me a copy of their cookbook; I questioned her about it, and that’s how I got to be even quirkier.

She studied horticulture at Clemson University as a non-traditional student. “I’m so fortunate that my early attempts at getting a degree got side tracked as I’m a lot better at getting dirty in the garden than practicing diplomacy!” McNulty also studied at South Carolina State University and earned a graduate degree in teaching there.
