Erythemis simplicicollis, commonly called the eastern pondhawk, is a species of dragonfly native to North America.

Yolanda was photographing plants and she wanted to know what the insect was that she was looking at. And this is the eastern pondhawk.
One of the dragonflies. Used to call it a green jacket dragonfly because the male and female start off with kind of a greenish color on them, and then the male turns bluish as it gets to be an adult. Female keeps that pretty green color.
