In the first week of April last year, state officials were fearful that the growing COVID pandemic would turn the state’s then booming economy upside down and possibly lead to a recession. A year later those fears have subsided.

Governor Dick Riley for two terms, and for 20 years was the chief public affairs officer for the University of South Carolina.
