In three days of early voting, 61,775 South Carolinians cast a ballot in the race to replace Sen. Lindsey Graham as the GOP nominee.

Judge Daniel Coble said that the state GOP must certify Danny Ford II within 24 hours and that the state Election Commission needs to include him on early voting and election day ballots.

More than 44,000 people had voted early as of 3 p.m. Tuesday, according to the South Carolina Election Commission. The figure is a new state record for turnout on a single day of early primary voting. The previous single-day state high was 23,000 votes in 2024.

Polls will be open for early voting from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays until Friday, June 5.

South Carolinians who would like to vote in the state's June 9 primary election have until Monday to submit some type of voter registration form for eligibility to vote in the election.

In a 4-0 vote Wednesday, the South Carolina Election Commission appointed Conway Belangia as its next executive director.
