The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has arrested two Chester men in a nearly two year old Richland County dogfighting investigation.
Jordan Price, 25, and Jamarcus Culp, 31, are each charged with two counts of Ill Treatment of Animals, Criminal Conspiracy, and Presence at Facility of Animal Fighting or Baiting – 1st Offense. Both were booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Arrest warrants show that on or about April 20, 2024, law enforcement disrupted an active dogfight in a wooded area near McCords Ferry Rd. in Eastover where spectators were standing around a pit watching the fight. When officers arrived, the spectators fled. Investigators say the two dogs had been fighting for about 10 minutes before being separated.
Investigators say Price was detained in the area on the the night of the dogfight, possessing a weapon and a "wad" of money. Additionally, Culp's truck was found parked near the location where the incident occurred. Both men were identified as being at the dogfight.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact SLED at 866-472-8477 or email tips@sled.sc.gov.
