Polls open in York County in Senate District 15 race

Democrats Monika White and Chad Williams are vying for the Democratic nomination. The winner will face Republican James Burns in the November General Election.

Voters in parts of York County head to the polls Tuesday to decide which Democrat will run for the Senate District 15 seat on Election Day. Polls are open until 7 p.m.

The November 3 winner will succeed state Republican Sen. Wes Climer who is running to represent the 5th District in Congress. Climer resigned his seat in June, triggering a special election for the seat that covers most of Rock Hill.

Senators serve four-year terms. The full 46-member chamber is back up for reelection in 2028.
