High pressure is currently sitting over Mississippi and parts of Louisiana, leaving South Carolina on its fringe. The front is fairly strong and brings hot, humid conditions to areas closer to its center.
Luckily, South Carolina is far enough away to avoid the worst of that heat.
Because air around the high-pressure system moves clockwise, a weak front that starts this afternoon will move through the region until Wednesday.
