Across the country, artificial intelligence is reshaping how colleges support students. Many institutions are using AI-powered chatbots to provide 24/7 access to campus life resources. At the College of Charleston, Clyde the Chatbot is leading the way—checking in with students, answering questions, and offering support.
For some students, a chatbot is an easier first step. Research shows chatbots are helping foster engagement, streamline support services, and identify students in need earlier in the semester.
These tools don’t replace human support—they expand it. AI chatbots meet students where they are and offer help that is accessible and judgment-free.
