Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and that means different things for students of all ages. In elementary school, classrooms are decorated in pinks and reds, and students exchange cards and share candy hearts.
This cheerful vibe becomes more muted in middle and high school classrooms, and something is lost in the transition. Research shows that showing kindness strengthens relationships, boosts well‑being, and creates healthier school communities.
Expressing kindness with candy and cards may seem trivial, but kids of all ages benefit from feeling loved. So on this Valentine’s Day, let's encourage kids of all ages to reclaim the joy of showing and telling their friends that they matter.
