South Carolina will continue to have a humid environment. Although we are slowly moving away from having extreme hot temperatures, the heat stays put for Wednesday, but severe storms make a comeback.
Wednesday will start humid with near-record temperatures across the Upstate. Lows will be around the mid-to-upper 70s. By the afternoon, temperatures will rise to the mid-to upper 90s across the Midlands and stay around the low 90s for the coastal region. Upstate will experience high temperatures, recorded around noon, in the low to mid-90s. But expect the clouds to move in and cool down the temperatures a little after 3 p.m.
Severe weather outlook
Clouds will start to build across the Palmetto State. A weak low-pressure system will move across the state from east to west, increasing the instability in the atmosphere and allowing thunderstorms to develop.
The timing of the storms will be mainly focused along the coast in the afternoon. The afternoon rain and thunderstorms will keep the temperature in the low 90s. But remember that these storms could turn severe, producing damaging winds of at least 60 mph and the chance of hail.
Severe weather will once again threaten on Wednesday. The evening will be active, with the main risk focused on the Midlands and Upstate. The storms will move from north to south, moving through after 5 p.m. through 10 p.m.
The evening storms could turn severe as they are forecast to be more organized and likely more dangerous, with damaging winds of at least 75 mph and the chance for large hail. Please stay alert and informed. If you live in the Midlands or Upstate, make sure you have at least three ways of receiving weather alerts on Wednesday evening.

Thursday will remain rather unsettled. We will continue to have plenty of moisture and instability to produce scattered thunderstorms across the entire state throughout the day. Some of the thunderstorms could turn severe, but are not likely to be organized. There will be more cloud coverage on Thursday, and temperatures will be much cooler and closer to average for this time of year. The coast, specifically the Lowcountry, will have temperatures closer to 90° while the Midlands and Upstate will stay slightly above average, with temperatures around the low to mid-90s. Low temperatures for the rest of the week will stay around the mid-70s statewide.
