South Carolina ETV

This week we are recording in front of a live audience at part of South Carolina ETV and South Carolina Public Radio’s America 250 celebration. Our guests are Gen. Will Grimsley, Chair of the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250); and Molly Fortune, Chief Executive Officer, of SC250.

Among the topics we’ll be covering today are South Carolina's role in the American Revolution, the work and mission of the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission, statewide commemorations and initiatives surrounding America's 250th anniversary, and historical perspectives and stories from South Carolina's Revolutionary era.

Dr. Walter Edgar has two programs on South Carolina Public Radio: Walter Edgar's Journal, and South Carolina from A to Z. Dr. Edgar received his B.A. degree from Davidson College in 1965 and his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina in 1969. After two years in the army (including a tour of duty in Vietnam), he returned to USC as a post-doctoral fellow of the National Archives, assigned to the Papers of Henry Laurens.
