Each year, a flood of graduates enter the job market between June and November. Those who aren’t prepared—with strong resumes or LinkedIn profiles—often struggle to land that crucial first job.
Instead of spending hours searching for positions and submitting applications online, experts at the College of Charleston’s career center say students should visit the career center well before graduation. Students should build relationships with employers at career fairs, improve job search materials and start networking early.
Taking these proactive steps can make the transition from college to career less stressful and increase the chance of finding a job after graduation.
