Summer brings a break from the usual school routine. Without classes or homework, kids can stay up late and sleep in, enjoying the freedom to lounge indoors. Unlike school days, which include physical activity and limited screen time, summer’s lack of structure can lead to more sedentary behavior.
A recent study found that children aged 6 to 9 become 53% less active during the summer.
There are many tips available to help kids get the recommended 60 minutes of daily activity. Ultimately, families should work together to find routines and activities that suit their needs.
