When it comes to nutrition, we often assume that offering children healthy options is enough. But research suggests otherwise. A study published in The Journal of Nutrition found that when children are given a choice among snacks, they overwhelmingly select the least healthy options.
So what can we do? Limit the number of unhealthy options available. Offer nutritious snacks without competing alternatives. And most importantly, engage children in conversations about food, what it does for their bodies, and how it makes them feel.
