South Carolina will have a busy Friday with showers and storms moving through the region as a low-pressure system spins nearby and exits just in time to start the weekend. Once it exits, this same system will pull cold air over the Palmetto State, dominating the weekend and returning to a warm trend on Monday.

There is a marginal chance of isolated severe storms across the northern portion of the Lowcountry and Pee Dee on Friday as the low-pressure system’s cold front pushes through. The chance for showers will diminish overnight, and Saturday is forecast to be a crisp, sunny day across much of the estate, with temperatures below average for this time of year.
Weekend cooldown.
It will be a cold weekend, with Saturday's highs remaining 10 to 12 degrees below normal for this time of year. Highs across Upstate will be between the low to mid-60s, while the Midlands and coastal region will stay around the upper-60s to low-70s. By Sunday morning, the lows will be in the upper-30s across the Upstate, around the low-40s and mid to upper-40s across Pee Dee and Lowcountry. By the afternoon, the highs will increase through the low to mid-70s across the state. Be ready for a sharp increase on Monday.; highs will rebound to above average by about 5 to 10 degrees and reach the mid-80s.
A high-pressure system will set up camp just east of Florida, and the winds will be from the west, bringing in that warmth across South Carolina. This high will erode and give way to the next cold front, passing through on Tuesday. The winds will increase on Tuesday morning and continue throughout the day. By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will drop again to below average for this time of year. Still, another bounce back in temperatures arrives to end the work week and possibly throughout the next weekend.
